John W. Gattshall, 56, of Kansas City, Kansas, passed away on Thursday, September 16, 2021. He was born on April 9, 1965 in Goodland, Kansas to Wayne and Carol (Johnson) Gattshall.

John grew up in Goodland, KS as an avid 4Her even achieving the 4H key award. He won many medals in Kansas kids wrestling as well as lettered at Goodland high school for wrestling. John was a county extension agent before he was Co-owner and operator of MidAmerica Mortuary service and loved by all in the industry especially his work family he had there. He was a proud father of 3 kids and top leader in Clash of Clans. He loved being outdoors camping, grilling, and sports radio.

John is survived by his loving children, Melinda Turnbull, Heather Gattshall, and Jacob Gattshall; grandchildren, Emma Turnbull, Lizzy Turnbull, and Cora Turnbull; siblings, David Gattshall, Lee Gattshall, Karen Hooker (Scott), Ruth Gattshall, Alvin Gattshall and multiple nieces and nephews

He was preceded in death by his sister Leta Cates (Gattshall); and his parents, Wayne Gattshall and Carol Gattshall.

The family will receive guests for a visitation from 10:00-11:00am on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at Penwell Gabel's Olathe Chapel, with a funeral service following at 11:00am. Burial of his cremated remains will be Saturday, September 25, 2021 at 1:00pm, Mountain Time, at Goodland Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Sherman County 4-H Council, 813 Broadway Ave # 301, Goodland, KS 67735
