She was born on August 18, 1933 to Robert and Katherine (Hertz) Tietz in New Leipzig, ND.
On June 1, 1952, she married Keith Bertelsen, and they made their home in Stilwell, OK and retired in Brownsville, TX.
Darleen and her husband, Keith, co-owned Stilwell Pharmacy for 25 years, prior to their retirement.
She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, she enjoyed golfing, singing in church, traveling and spending time with her family.
Darleen is survived by her sons, Bruce and Virginia Bertelsen, Mark and Holly Bertelsen, her
grandchildren Mark Martini, Brian and Kristen Bertelsen and 5th great-grandchild due to be born November, 2021, Brett and Lia Bertelsen, great-grandchildren Tyler Bertelsen and Bella Bertelsen,
and Kelli and Jon Ritter, great-granddaughters Brielle Ritter and Brynlee Ritter. She is also survived by her sister, Ruth De Nault.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Keith Bertelsen.
Memorials are suggested to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
