Bonnie June Temple Blackwell passed away peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, May 4th, 2020 in Norman, OK. She is survived by her two children, Larry and Nancy, grandchildren, Jennifer and Geoffrey Baysinger and great grandchildren, Willow and Julia Allen.
Bonnie was born on July 14th, 1924 in Johnson County, KS and graduated from the Olathe High School where she met her future husband, Bob Blackwell. She worked at Sunflower Ammunition during World II until she married Bob. She then lived at several Army Air Force bases with Bob until the end of the war.
They then lived in Lenexa, KS where they attended the United Methodist Church. Bob worked in engineering, including building the Kansas Turnpike. They went into the bowling business together in Olathe in 1959, where Bonnie and Bob worked full-time as manager and part owner of Olathe Bowl. They moved to Wichita, KS to manage and partially own another bowling alley. They retired to Sierra Vista, AZ in 1980.
Bonnie also served in the Welcome Wagon for many years.
Services and burial will be held at a later date at Pleasant Valley Cemetery, 9501 159th St, Overland Park, KS 66221.
Bonnie would like donations to the American Diabetes Association, in lieu of flowers.
