1957 - 2018

Paul W. Wolford, 61, of Overland Park, KS passed away Thursday, November 15, 2018.

Paul was born May 31, 1957 in Lincoln, Nebraska. He was the youngest of three and remained close to his brothers, John and Jerry. He attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln where he met his wife, Kathleen. Following graduation, he enjoyed a long and successful career in sales. Throughout the years Paul was fortunate to have formed many dear friendships and professional relationships. His honesty and integrity were appreciated by everyone who knew him.

As a native Nebraskan, Paul remained a huge Husker fan. He liked getting back to Lincoln to attend football games and reunite with old friends. He was a big sports enthusiast and enjoyed spending time with family and friends relaxing at the lake.

After his diagnosis, Paul would not allow his illness to define him. A year later, one of the proudest moments of his life was walking his daughter, Jennifer, down the aisle at her wedding. Paul became an active advocate for lung cancer research through his role as a LUNG FORCE Hero. He was committed to fighting not only for himself, but also for those affected by lung cancer today and in the future. He remained brave and courageous until the end. His daughter said he was not only a LUNG FORCE Hero, but her hero.

Paul is survived by his parents, James and Joan Wolford of Lincoln, NE; brothers: John Wolford (Suzanne) of Lincoln, NE, and Jerald Wolford (Margit Royal) of Paris, VA; beloved wife of 37 years, Kathleen; cherished daughter, Jennifer Weber (Matt). In addition, he was blessed to be part of an extended family who continued to love and support him.
