Zachary Randall Mahurin, 30, of Olathe, passed away on July 10, 2022 at Olathe Medical Center. He was born on April 27, 1992 to Kirk and Stephanie (Koons) Mahurin in Cedar Rapids, IA.
He graduated from Olathe South High School in 2011, and went on to attend Johnson County Community College. Zachary was an experienced HVAC tech. There wasn't a problem he couldn't solve and he was great at any handy man job or remodeling project. He helped so many friends and family members with his talents.
He wanted to be best friends with every person and every dog he met. He was extremely loyal to his closest tribe. Zach loved doing anything fun. Wherever his friends and family were, that is where he wanted to be. He loved his truck, watching sports, practicing shooting, playing board games, and battling on Clash of Clans with his little brother and sister. When he was young he loved to draw, and was an incredibly gifted lefty. Most of all, he loved his daughter Meadow, she further ignited his excitement for life and fascination with the world.
Zachary is survived by his loving parents, his daughter Meadow Mahurin, his sisters Elise Jones & Alexandria Mahurin, his brother Gage Mahurin, his nephews Henley & Stellan Jones, his brother-in-law Tyler Jones, his grandmother Sandy Mahurin, and many cousins and extended family members that loved him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his Grandfather Randy Mahurin, Grandmother Cynthia Koons, Grandfather Ralph Koons and best friend and brother Nicholas Sands.
Please wear color to Zachary's service. We feel he would want the room in color. We also encourage you to write a note to Meadow about her Dad. Any funny story or thoughts you would like to share that will help her know how exceptional he was, how loved he was, and how much he loved her would be meaningful to her as she grows.
Services for Zachary will be held on Friday, July 15 at Life Mission Church, Family Life Center, 16111 S Lone Elm Road, Olathe KS 66062, with visitation at 10:30am, and funeral service to follow at 11:30am. Burial will be in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.
