Wayne Reidy

Wayne R. Reidy, 82, of Olathe, Kansas, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, July 8, 2025.

Wayne was born on July 27, 1942, in Chicago, Illinois. He moved with his family to Kansas City when he was a young boy, where he spent the majority of his life.

After attending high school, Wayne explored various jobs before answering the call to serve his country by joining the United States Marine Corps in 1961. He completed boot camp in South Carolina, proudly serving with honor and discipline.

Following his service, Wayne returned home to Kansas City and began an apprenticeship in plumbing—a trade that became his lifelong career. His skill and commitment led him to a position at St. Luke’s Hospital, where he worked diligently until his retirement in 2001. Known for his reliability and strong work ethic, Wayne took great pride in his work and the relationships he built throughout his career.

An avid outdoorsman, Wayne found joy in camping and fishing, always eager to share the beauty of nature with those around him. His warmth, humor, and proud strength left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.

Wayne is survived by his beloved wife of 33 years, Pam Reidy. He also leaves his three children: Bill Reidy (April), Christine Reidy, and Elizabeth Reidy. His legacy continues through his 7 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, all of whom brought him great pride and joy.

Wayne lived a full and adventurous life marked by his love of the outdoors and devotion to his family. His life will be celebrated in the hearts of all who loved him, and his memory will forever be cherished.

In honor of Wayne, the family kindly requests that contributions be made in his memory to Tunnel to Towers, a cause close to his heart.

A celebration of Wayne’s life will be held at a later date. Details will be shared with family and friends when arrangements have been made.
