Listen to Obituary

Wanda Lorraine Armstrong, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 30, 2026, at the age of 74.

Wanda was a loving and devoted mother. Even at a young age, she worked hard to provide for her family and took great pride in everything she did. She was appreciated by her coworkers and bosses throughout her working years and was known for her caring nature, strong work ethic, and generous spirit.

Wanda had a special love for animals and nature. She loved her pets and took great joy in caring for the birds and wildlife around her home. She made sure the bird feeders were always filled, the birdbaths were clean and full, and her beautiful garden was lovingly maintained. Gardening was something she enjoyed doing herself, and her home reflected the care and creativity she brought to everything she touched.

One of Wanda's greatest joys was being a grandmother. She adored her grandsons, Jake and Luke, and treasured every moment she spent with them. She also held a very special place in her heart for her step-grandson, Brock, who gave her her first experience of being a grandma. She loved taking walks with her grandsons and the dogs, going to the park, watching movies, celebrating birthdays, and enjoying family traditions at Easter, the Fourth of July, and Christmas. These simple family moments were among the things she cherished most.

Wanda was artistic and creative. She worked as a florist and baker, allowing her to share her creativity and talent with others. She had a gift for making things beautiful and bringing joy to those around her.

Her generosity extended far beyond her own family. Wanda believed in helping others and regularly contributed to organizations close to her heart, including St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Shriners Hospitals for Children, Mercy Ships, Operation Smile, Doctors Without Borders, Wayside Waifs and Tunnel to Towers Foundation. Her kindness and compassion touched many lives, often in ways she never knew.

Wanda will be deeply missed by her daughters, Margie Harper (Bill) of Kinder, Louisiana, and Tina Reynolds (Dave); her grandchildren, Jake Reynolds and Luke Reynolds of Olathe, Kansas. She is also survived by her siblings, Orlinda Sickler (Jim); Gary Wallace; and Twyla Clark (Robert), of Shenandoah, Iowa, along with many nieces and nephews, extended family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Avis (Foster) Wallace and Richard Wallace, and her brother, Richard Wallace Jr.

Wanda's life was filled with hard work, creativity, generosity, family, and love. She found happiness in the people she loved, the animals she cared for, the garden she nurtured, and the many simple moments that made life special. Her memory will live on in her children, grandchildren, family, friends, and in the kindness she shared with others.

She will be deeply loved, forever missed, and always remembered.
