Vivian Kay Turner, 65, of Gardner, Kansas, passed away on Wednesday, March 25th. She was born on April 12, 1960, in Merriam, Kansas, to Lloyd and Charlene Turner.

Kay lived a life full of energy, laughter, and deep love for those around her. She was a devoted sports fan, especially to her beloved Kansas City Chiefs and Kansas City Current, and she cheered just as passionately for women’s and men’s teams alike. However, her greatest joy came from supporting her eight grandchildren. Whether it was band and choir concerts or any sporting event they took part in, Kay was always there proud, present, and cheering the loudest.

Known for her radiant smile and unforgettable laugh, Kay had a way of making everyone feel welcome. Her kindness touched all who knew her, and she was always ready to be someone’s “partner in crime,” bringing fun and warmth wherever she went.

Kay had a love for collecting all kinds of treasures, always believing that one day they might be worth millions. She also cherished time spent outdoors, fishing, camping, boating, or simply playing games, so long as she could enjoy the fresh air and good company.

A true testament to strength and resilience, Kay was a 20-year survivor of a double lung transplant. Though the journey was not always easy, she carried herself with grace and determination, never letting her struggles define her. She continued to live fully and joyfully, inspiring those around her with her perseverance, and ensuring she was able to see each one of her grandchildren grow.

Kay was preceded in death by her parents and her partner, Kelly Grieshaber.

She is lovingly survived by her son, Jeremy (Holly) Hansen; her daughter, Kristin (Chris) Madison; and her eight grandchildren: Theo Hansen, Jackson Hansen, Vinny Hansen, Alex Hansen, Micky Hansen, Brady Madison, Libby Hansen, and Andrew Madison. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and extended family members who will miss her dearly.

Kay will be remembered for her laughter, her strength, her unwavering support for her family, and the love she gave so freely. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
