Todd A. Scofield, 60, of Olathe, Kansas, passed away on Sunday, February 1, 2026.
Todd was born in Independence, Kansas, to Bill and Mary Lou Scofield, and grew up in Emporia, Kansas. He attended the University of Kansas living in the ATO house and later graduated from Emporia State University. Todd had a lifelong love of sports, especially football, basketball, and golf, and excelled at all three during his high school years. A devoted KU fan, Todd supported the Jayhawks through every season—faithfully, even during the challenging football years.
Professionally, Todd enjoyed a career in medical sales, where his natural ability to connect with others served him well. He was a gifted conversationalist and had a remarkable talent for remembering names and faces, making people feel valued and at ease.
Outside of work, Todd enjoyed playing golf and attending or cheering on KU sporting events. Above all, he treasured time spent with his boys, who were the center of his life. He loved coaching his sons through the years and took great pride in watching them grow and excel on the football field.
Todd was preceded in death by his father, Bill Scofield. He is survived by his mother, Mary Lou (Cox) Scofield; his brothers, Reid (Mary) Scofield and Mark (Anne) Scofield; his sons, Will Scofield (fiancé Abigail Goscha) and Danny Scofield and their mother, Cathy (Colwell) Scofield; and his loving partner, Carol Cline.
Todd was deeply loved by many Emporia and KU friends, whose support and care meant so much during his short and courageous battle with lung cancer. The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate healthcare teams at St. Luke’s Hospital, KU Medical Center, and KU Hospice House for their exceptional care and kindness.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 17 at 10am, with a memorial service to follow at 11am, at Penwell-Gabel Olathe Chapel.
