Thomas Michael Williams

Thomas Michael “Tom” Williams, 20, was born on February 22, 2006, and grew up in the Kansas City area, where he was surrounded by family, friends, and the community he called home. A soft-spoken and loving person, Tom was smart, funny, and kind-hearted, with a genuine personality. He was deeply loved by those who knew him and will be remembered for the quiet, meaningful ways he showed his care for the people around him.

As a child, Tom was an avid youth athlete. He most enjoyed participating in baseball and football, but also loved playing soccer and basketball.

Tom graduated from Olathe West High School in 2024. He had recently moved into his first apartment and was thrilled to be living on his own, embracing the independence of having his own place and beginning this new chapter of his life.

In addition to his love for sports, Tom had a creative side and enjoyed penning his own song lyrics. He also had a fun, adventurous spirit and absolutely loved riding roller coasters. At home, he enjoyed gaming and spending time with his family, particularly over board game nights, poker, and blackjack. Whether it was a special holiday or simply an ordinary night at home, time spent with the people he loved was incredibly important to him.

Tom was preceded in death by his father, Mike Williams, and his grandfather, James Michael “Mike” Wolfe.

He is survived by his loving mother and stepfather, Karen and Kingsley Edwards; his sister, Elaine Williams; his stepsiblings, Alex, Christopher, Avery, and Nicholas Edwards; his grandparents, Randy and Jan Graves, Tom and Linda Williams, Josette Edwards, and Kingsley Edwards Sr.; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and friends who loved him dearly.

Tom’s family will always remember him for his intelligence, humor, kind heart, and the love he shared with those closest to him. His memory will live on through the time spent together, the conversations and experiences they shared, and the many ways he was a meaningful part of their lives. Although his life was far too short, the love his family and friends have for him will remain with them forever.
