Terry Lee Biery, 82, of Olathe, Kansas, passed away peacefully at home on June 2, 2026.
Terry was born on June 24, 1943, in Webster, Kansas, to Freeman and Nita Biery. He grew up alongside his siblings, Shirley Cummings, Galen Biery, Rick Biery, Teresa Biery, and Bonnie Biery.
A proud patriot, Terry served his country in the United States Air Force and later continued his career through Civil Service as an Air Reserve Technician, supporting the Air Force Reserves. He worked as a medical entomologist and was highly regarded for his research involving venomous arthropods. Among his accomplishments was the completion of a handbook featuring his own photographs documenting his research.
Terry was a man of many interests and talents. He was an accomplished photographer, an excellent cook, and enjoyed researching supplements and holistic medicine. In his later years, he especially enjoyed riding his electric bicycle until his health no longer allowed him to do so.
Those who knew Terry will remember him as both outgoing and thoughtful. He possessed a deep personal faith in God that he shared with others throughout his life. He was known for his knowledge, curiosity, and willingness to help those around him.
Terry is survived by his loving partner, June; his son, Timothy Biery; and his daughter, Christina (Mike) Black. And two grandchildren James and Molly. He is also survived by his siblings Galen (Cheryl) Biery, Rick (Maureen) Biery, Teresa (Cyndi) Biery, and Bonnie Biery.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Freeman and Nita Biery; his sister, Shirley Cummings; and his brother-in-law, Richard Cummings.
Terry's family will remember him as a devoted husband, father, brother, researcher, and friend whose passion for learning and service left a lasting impact on those fortunate enough to know him.
The family would appreciate potted plants rather than cut flowers, allowing Terry's memory to continue growing and blooming for years to come.
