In Loving Memory of Steven Wendell Jones
March 25, 1951 – July 1, 2025
Steven Wendell Jones, a deeply loved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on July 1, 2025, after a courageous two-year battle with pancreatic cancer.
Born on March 25, 1951, in Stockton, California, to Walton and Ella Jones, Steve lived a life defined by unwavering faith, fierce love, and quiet strength.
Steve spent his career in sales, where he was known not only for his integrity and skill but for the warmth, humor, and humanity he brought to every interaction. Clients quickly became friends, and colleagues became family. His professional legacy is marked by dedication, excellence, and the relationships he built along the way. But it was Steve’s life outside of work where his heart truly shined.
Whether at the lake surrounded by family and friends or simply enjoying a conversation on the back porch, Steve found joy in the simple, meaningful moments. He created a home where laughter was abundant, faith was central, and everyone felt seen and loved.
Steve shared a remarkable 54-year marriage with his beloved wife, Melissa. Her quiet strength and unwavering devotion through every joy and every hardship were a reflection of the deep love they shared. Together, they modeled a relationship built on faith, resilience, and true companionship—a love story that inspired everyone who knew them.
He is survived by his cherished wife, Melissa, and their children: Joel (Amy) Jones, Juli (Jeremy) Jones, and Jenna (Jason) Pfaff. His legacy continues in his nine beloved grandchildren, who will forever carry the values he instilled—faith, kindness, perseverance, and love. He is also survived by his sister Linda Lombardi and his brother Eldon Jones.
Steve will be remembered not only for the life he lived but for the love he gave so freely. He loved the Lord deeply, and his faith shaped every part of who he was. He extended compassion without hesitation, offered wisdom without pride, and lived with a grace that left an imprint on everyone who crossed his path. He will be missed beyond words—but never forgotten.
In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to honor Steve’s memory through donations to Shelter KC or Project 10 20, two causes close to his heart.
Steve’s Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, July 26th at College Church of the Nazarene in Olathe, Kansas. Visitation will be held from 10am-11am and service held from 11am-noon.
