Sharon Lee Becker

Sharon Lee Becker passed away on August 20, 2026, age 83, at Olathe Hospice House.

She was born December 28, 1942 to Louis and Adelaide Scholl. She graduated from Shawnee Mission East and attended Sterling College for two years where she met Ken Becker. They were married in 1962 and moved to Sterling where Ken finished his degree.

Sharon was preceded in death by her mother & father, and stepmother Marge Ray.

Following Ken’s degree, they moved to Kansas City, Missouri where he sold auto supplies for her father.  Ken then joined the Kansas National Guard and was a member of the 42nd Army Band and later a member of the 188th Army Band out of Ft. Jackson, South Carolina.

Upon discharge from the Army, Sharon & Ken moved to Shawnee. Sharon became a dental assistant while he worked for American Express. They then moved to Detroit, Michigan with American Express.

Ken and Sharon were blessed with a son, Brent, in 1967 who was their only son, and was a real joy for them.

They all spent time at Table Rock Lake enjoying skiing and Branson. They attended all Brent’s basketball, baseball games and traveling in their motorhome.

Sharon was a member of Young Matrons & taught Vacation Bible School.

Sharon was a medical assistant for 17 years and a dental assistant for 6 years and then became Ken Becker & Associates secretary and partner, helping with sales and presentations for Ken. She packed his suitcases in advance of his road trips and even cooked meals for his salesman at the office and at home.

Sharon enjoyed playing Bunco and bowling along with aerobics at the YMCA. She enjoyed cheerleading for Sterling College Warriors.

Sharon accepted Christ into her heart and personal life as a teenager. Edith Bartholomew led her to Jesus at a Bible camp. She had an unwavering faith in her Savior. Her and Ken worshiped together for 63 years and always had a church home.

Sharon loved her Savior and believed in genuine salvation, which means receiving Jesus as your personal Savior and having a personal relationship with our Savior and acknowledging Jesus as Lord of her life. Worshipping only our Lord who rose victorious over the cross and grave. To God be the glory for my beloved wife, Brent's mother. 

Sharon laughed a lot and had a sense of humor. She was a people person, a wonderful and perfect mother to Brent. 

Throughout all her pain the last 10 years she never complained. Sharon is now dancing in heaven with her parents and Ken's parents and praising her risen Savior.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions in Sharon’s memory be made to Samaritans Purse Operation Christmas Child.
