Shannon Lee Bruce

Shannon Lee Bruce, 54, of Olathe, Kansas, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 7, 2025.

 Shannon Bruce was born on October 3, 1970 in Olathe, Kansas to John and Alice Bruce. He grew up in Olathe in a loving home where he was the youngest of 12 children. He graduated from Olathe North High School, and later decided to serve his country by joining the Navy. Prior to his illness, he was a dump truck driver for many years and took great pride in his job. Known for his warm smile and sense of humor, he touched the lives of everyone he encountered and his presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him. 

Shannon was preceded in death by his parents, John and Alice, a sister Margie, a brother David. 

He is survived by his children, Aubrun Hopson, Peyton Kettler-Bruce, Brianna Sloan and Brittani Sloan, 8 beloved grandchildren, his siblings John (Lena) Bruce, Gwendolyn Johnson, Judy Turner, Donald Bruce, Christine Sipple, Ramona (Wanda) Bruce, Stephan (Linda) Bruce, Sonya Williams, Stuart (Trish) Bruce and Sherrye Bruce, a host of nieces and nephews. 

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at The American Legion on Friday, September 27, 2025 at 3:30pm. American Legion, 410 E Dennis Ave Olathe, KS 66061.

Interment of Ashes will be held at the Leavenworth National Cemetery on Tuesday, September 30th, 2025 at 12:30pm at Leavenworth National Cemetery, 150 Muncie Rd. Leavenworth, KS 66048.
