Sean was born 3 days before Christmas 1982 in Loma Linda, CA. He was the best Christmas gift ever.
Sean grew up in Redlands, CA and the adjacent city of East Highlands Ranch. He attended Redlands East Valley High School, graduating in 2001.
Inspired by his Boy Scout Troop Leader at very early age, Sean always wanted to be a fireman. Following his graduation from high school, he enrolled at the Oxnard College Fire Academy in California. Subsequently, he served as a faculty member at Southwestern College in San Diego County, where he worked as a lab coordinator in the paramedic department. He joined the Lenexa Fire Department in 2015, where he realized his dream of becoming a firefighter/paramedic.
Sean was a man’s man who had a very tender heart. He loved animals. As a young boy, while on a road trip with family in Oregon, he saw a dead deer on the side of the road and cried. He especially loved dogs (not so much cats). His rottweilers, Buster, Riley and Rudy were his favorite “people.”
Sean had a real talent when it came to mechanical or construction projects. He could fix or build anything. And if the project required a special tool, Sean either had it or bought it. That was a gift he inherited from his dad.
We hope Sean is remembered for being the funny guy that he was and for being a good friend and dependable member of his firefighter family.
Sean is survived by his parents, Michael and Diana O’Bryant, his sister Erin, her children Emily, Brynn and William, wife Stella and her sons Easton and Nolan, as well as his many aunts, uncles and friends who loved him unconditionally.
