Samuel Alexander Byers was born August 12, 1993, in Kansas City, Missouri, the son of Paul and Kelly Byers. He passed away June 7th, 2025.
Sam was truly our shining light and embraced life with great gusto. His spirit was infectious to all those who knew him, whether for a moment or for a lifetime.
Sam grew up in Leawood, Kansas, sharing a close bond with his brother, Max. His childhood was filled with endless neighborhood pickup games and memories that will never be forgotten. He attended Shawnee Mission East High School and was a proud Lancer.
He met the love of his life, Mady Davis, while attending the University of Kansas. They planned to be married on July 19, 2025. Sam was so eager to marry Mady, celebrate their wedding day with family & friends, and start the life they had planned. Sam was a proud dog dad to their puppy, Annabelle, who adored him.
We will desperately miss his vibrant storytelling and always long for another joke or witty remark. We are thankful for every moment spent with him watching sports, establishing traditions, or simply being together, never knowing that these moments will forever be far too few.
Sam’s selfless nature for his family and friends was abundant. He was always ready to lend a hand when needed, even willing to inspect a damaged roof in a thunderstorm (wearing boxers and Crocs). Sam was always there. His friendships were boundless, and that unconditional love was contagious.
Sam enjoyed working in sales, starting at Sock 101 and most recently with P-M & Associates. During his professional career, he developed many long-lasting relationships throughout the country and a reputation that speaks volumes to his character.
Simply put - Sam loved his Mady, his brother Max, family & friends, all things tradition, and a slice of pie.
Sam leaves an ever widening, overwhelming void which will only feel slightly smaller on those days we are reminded of the many happy times shared with him.
Sam is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Frank C. and Virginia Byers and uncle, Jerry Northcutt.
Sam is survived by his fiancée, Mady Davis, parents, Paul & Kelly Byers, brother, Max Byers, maternal grandparents, Jack & Mary Kennedy, Uncles, Frank C. Byers Jr. & Craig Kennedy, Aunts, Susan Susz, Judy White (husband, Alfred White) & Kristie Evans (husband, Kevin Evans), many cousins, future mother-in-law, Stephani Davis, and future sister-in-law, Caroline Davis.
In lieu of flowers, please keep Mady and the Byers family in your thoughts and prayers and aspire to live life like our Sam.
