Listen to Obituary

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Ronda Sevina Dykes, a beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, niece, cousin, friend, artisan, and devoted follower of Christ. Ronda was born on November 11, 1958, in Portland, Oregon, and she peacefully departed this life on November 7, 2025, at the KU Medical Center in Olathe, Kansas. Earlier she was surrounded by her loving husband, Tim Dykes, and her cherished children, Jordan Sare, Emily Dykes, and her fiancé, Jared DeWendt.

Ronda graduated from Concordia University in Portland, Oregon, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Communications. Her education laid the groundwork for her entrepreneurial journey, leading her to establish Daffodil Hills Studio, where she created beautiful reimagined furniture for resale. Her entrepreneurial talents later shone at the Style Haus on the Country Club Plaza in Kansas City, Missouri, where she created three new businesses.

Family was the heart and soul of Ronda's life. She was a devoted wife to Tim and a nurturing mother to Jordan and Emily, always prioritizing their happiness and well-being. Ronda's bond with her siblings—Victoria Schmoyer, Danny Schmoyer, Chris Schmoyer and Lee Nichols—was profound, and her love as an aunt and cousin enriched the lives of many.

Music was another passion of Ronda's, particularly classic rock and pop from the 70s and 80s, which filled her home with joy. She also adored her two new fur babies, Himalayan kittens Joy and Jody, whose playful antics brought her endless happiness.

Ronda’s faith in Christ guided her through life, and her legacy of love, creativity, and compassion will forever be remembered by those who knew her. A funeral service will be held on November 29, 2025, with visitation from 1:00 to 2:00 PM, followed by services from 2:00 to 3:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to the American Breast Cancer Society in Ronda's memory. Let us come together to celebrate her life and the love she shared with all of us.
