Ronald E. Stevens

Ronald Earl Stevens went home to be with his Lord and Savior on October 13, 2025. He was affectionately known as “Popper”; the cornerstone of his family. His love and faith were a powerful force that shaped, supported and guided all the generations of his family.

Ron was born in Joplin, Missouri, to Earl and Josephine Stevens on July 14, 1937. It was there he met and later wed his wife, Patricia, in 1955. Shortly thereafter, they started their family and moved to the Kansas City area.

Throughout most of his working career, he devoted his talents to the office machine business. He had joined several small companies yet found his happiness in being self-employed. Later in life, he proudly called himself “the old typewriter man.” He always worked hard to support and care for his family. While doing so, he taught his children the most valuable life lessons - not through lectures, but through his actions. He showed them the importance of hard work, the strength found in his faith, and his resilience when faced with adversity in an ever-changing world of technology.

Above all, Popper was a man of deep faith. He lived every moment of every day with an unwavering devotion to God and was known by many for his kind spirit and giving ways. He shared his infectious smile and his faith with everyone he met.

Popper was also a devoted family man who cherished every moment with his loved ones. He admired his wife and spent his life loving her day in and day out. He spent countless hours with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, celebrating every milestone, big or small. Whether it was a birthday, graduation, holiday or sporting event, Popper was always present.

Popper is survived by his wife of 70 years, Patricia. His four children, Vicki (Craig), Kim, David (Karen), Doug (Ronda), eight grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Josephine, sister, Bonnie and son-in-law, Brad. Popper will be remembered for his quick wit, humor, and ability to make everyone laugh, no matter the occasion. He left a mark on everyone he met and was always there to lend a helping hand. To know Popper was to love him, and his legacy of joy, devotion and faith will live on through all who were blessed to know him.
