Ronald Dwight Miller, 90, of Louisburg, Kansas, passed away at Olathe Hospice House on Friday, May 2, 2025, after a brief illness. He was born on February 3, 1935 in Kansas City, Kansas, to James and Juanita (Lilly) Miller.
Ronald spent much of his youth in Seymour, Iowa, where his father owned the local theater. He lost his mother as a child and spent a great deal of time with his aunt, Wanda Warren, and his grandmother, Clara Miller. After high school, he attended college at the University of Kansas where he studied engineering. He served in the Air Force Reserves. In 1958, he met his wife, Judy Hagedorn, and they were united in marriage on September 3, 1960.
In the early years of their marriage, Ron and Judy built a home in Shawnee, Kansas, and enjoyed traveling. They moved to Louisburg, Kansas in 1972 and raised three children. During his career, he worked at Bendix Corporation, Allis-Chalmers and the U.S. Postal Service. In 1981, Judy began work as a Kansas City Star delivery agent and Ron helped as well. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 1999 but continued with the Kansas City Star until they both retired in 2016. Ron liked classic cars, trees, and working in the yard. He was a fan of KU Basketball and the Kansas City Chiefs.
Ron is survived by his three daughters, Sonya (Mike) Cook of Louisburg, Kansas, Melanie Miller, and Kimberly (John) Koehler, both of Overland Park, Kansas. He leaves grandchildren Lily, Colin, Drew, Madelyn, Max, Olive and Vincent. Ron was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Judith Ann (Hagedorn) Miller.
