Ronald S. Essary

May 6, 1952 — May 29, 2025

Ronald S. Essary

Born May 6th, 1952 in Kansas City, Missouri, Ron passed away May 29th, 2025 in San Antonio, Texas. He was 73 years of age.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Annetta Essary and his six children, Danny Essary, Amy May, Kristy McIntire, Tiffani Essary, Alexis Earls, and Madison Essary. He was a grandfather to fourteen and great-grandfather to eight. Ron’s greatest hope was that all of them would know and love Christ.

Also surviving are his siblings, Gerald Essary, Debbie Painter, and Julian Leigh.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Lee Ray Essary and Maryann Mulbach, and his brother Dennis Essary.

He played baseball in his early forties swinging the bat for the KC Royals Senior League, but after his first swing of a golf club he traveled far for any chance to golf on the best courses in the world.

Generous and giving, Ron filled his life with helping others. He used his resources and influence to make things happen. He wanted good for others. He had a larger than life personality and left lasting impressions with his gestures of kindness and generosity great and small. He was all about elevating fun and sharing everything he had with others. He had an unwavering faith in Christ Jesus and shared His word in the halls of Alcoholics Anonymous as a member for over 38 years through sponsorship and focus on the AA Big Book and the Twelve Steps of Recovery.

Ron was founder and co-partner of Ideal Producer’s Group in Overland Park, KS. IPG was his professional pride and he positioned the company to move forward and grow and continue to provide for all those who helped build it. He founded Creative Marketing (CMIC) of Overland Park, KS. Known as the “godfather of annuities”, Ron brought innovative and forward thinking ideas to the insurance industry designing products that met the needs of his clients, the agent, the marketing company and the companies he represented. He created hundreds of jobs over his career for his employees providing stability in their careers. His reputation was solid. Something that he also held as a badge of honor.

We say goodbye to a simple but complex man whose steadfast and faithful leadership as a husband, father, grandfather, entrepreneur, colleague and friend made those who knew him best feel safer in the world.

Ron’s heart truly was two sizes too big. We will miss him forever and keep him alive with our memories and the stories that will be told for years.
