Roberta Georgiana Stevens

Roberta Georgiana Stevens, 81, of Overland Park, Kansas, passed away on Friday, July 19, 2024, after a brief two-month battle with metastatic lung cancer. Roberta was born on January 6, 1943, in Hamburg, Iowa to Clifford and Audra (Roberts) Harger. Roberta graduated from Shenandoah Community High School in Shenandoah, Iowa on June 2, 1960. That same year, Roberta married Gary Wayne Stevens from Clarinda, Iowa on October 2, 1960, and over a year later, she gave birth to a son.

Roberta had a career working as a Accounting Assistant for several employers over the years. After retiring, she got interested in researching and connecting various family genealogies. She also published a quarterly Harger Heritage Newsletter for a number of years. Roberta's hobbies included crafting, gardening and solving cross-word puzzles. She enjoyed going for daily walks, reading, and studying the Bible. Roberta loved the Lord Jesus Christ and being with her family.

Roberta is preceded in death by her parents, Clifford Burtis Harger II and Audra Lee (Roberts) Harger, and her older half sister Burta Lee (Harger) Geer, and ex-spouse Gary W. Stevens.

Roberta is survived by her loving son, Gary W. Stevens, Jr., older brother Clifford Burtis Harger III, cousin, Sandra Lea Buettner and other relatives.

The family requests that contributions in Roberta’s memory be made to the American Lung Association in Kansas .
