Robert “Bob” Christopher Salter, 92, passed away peacefully on April 28, 2026.
Bob was born on February 16, 1934, in Shamokin, Pennsylvania, to William and Mary (Zlotnik) Salter. He grew up in Upper Darby, PA and graduated from Upper Darby High School.
Bob and his beloved wife Martha “Martie” Salter were married in 1962, and they shared 63 years of love and devotion, until her passing last fall. Bob and Martie began their married life in Broomall, PA, where they began to raise their family. In 1978, they moved to Spring, TX, and in 2021, they moved to Overland Park, KS.
Bob proudly served his country as a paratrooper in the United States Army from 1954 to 1956. After he served our country, he spent his career in IT at Exxon Oil, followed by a post-retirement career at Continental Airlines.
Family was Bob’s greatest joy. He was known as Dad, Pop-Pop and Uncle Bob. Anyone who ever met Bob was his friend for life. Bob had an infectious personality and was always the life of every party or family gathering.
Bob is survived by his three children: Stephen Salter (Krista), Patricia Davis (Ted), and Diane Eschbacher (Tom); seven grandchildren: Lindsay Dryden (Patrick), Ned Davis (Ashley), Matthew Salter, McKayla Davis, Kelsey Salter, Emily Eschbacher, and Edward Eschbacher; and two great-grandchildren: Wade Dryden and Coe Davis.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Martie Salter.
