Riley James Watts-Koon

Riley James Watts-Koon, 19, was born August 7th, 2006, in Olathe, Kansas, and passed away peacefully in his sleep on December 22, 2025.

Riley graduated from Belton High School in Belton, Missouri in 2024 where he played basketball and was part of the esports team.

Riley worked at Freddy’s and Burger Shed. The employees loved working with him. He would dance and sing while cooking.

Riley loved to cook for his family, watch Anime, play video games, and was learning to play guitar. He always wanted to make everyone smile and laugh with his quirky personality.

Riley loved his siblings, giving them piggy back rides, playing video games and watching them play sports.

Riley is survived by his mother and father Jennifer Lea “Koon” Watts and Joseph Allan Watts; brothers Brenden and Landon; sister Josie; grandparents Shirley and JB Koon, Rebecca and David Slavens, David Watts, and Great Grandma Janis Thompson.

Riley was dearly loved and is greatly missed.

Visitation will be on Monday, December 29, 2025, 11:30 am - 12:30 pm, at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, 14275 S Black Bob Rd, Olathe, KS. Funeral service will follow visitation with graveside service at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, 13901 South Black Bob Road, Olathe, KS.
