November 13, 1946 — September 1, 2022
Regina Minturn passed away September 1, 2022 from heart failure.
Regina was preceded in death by her mother and father, Lester and Norma Jean Minturn.
She leaves behind sisters Sherry Grandon (Greg), Rhonda Gazaway (Dan) and Roberta Ashby (Clint) as well as many nieces and nephews.
As a graduate of Emporia State University, Regina spent her career dedicated to teaching our young children in the Kansas School system. Regina took a break in her career and relocated to Ethiopia, sponsored by the Overland Park Presbyterian Church, where she taught English. There she met her "twin sister" Mulu Alemu and her family. We used to joke that the only way you could tell them apart was by the color their hair. Regina became a part of their local community and sponsored many Ethiopians on their path to US citizenship. She remained a cherished "mother and grandmother" to many.
She will be missed by all who loved her so dearly.
