Phyllis grew up in the Herington and Hope communities. She attended Hope High School and later graduated from Upland Christian High School. She continued her education at Brown Mackie School of Business.
Phyllis was a longtime resident of Hope, Kansas, where she lovingly raised her three children. Later in life, she made her home in Herington, Kansas, where she shared many years with her husband, Richard, until his passing.

She will be remembered for her strength, her love for her family, and the faith she carried throughout her life.
Phyllis was the proud mother of three children: Jeffrey King, who preceded her in death; David King; and Laura Kiddey (King). She was also a loving grandmother to six grandchildren: Taylor, Bret, Jake, Jordan, Venessa, and Lea, who preceded her in death. She was a cherished great-grandmother to Nova, Eleanor, and Luca.
