Peggy Donna Zook

Peggy Donna Zook, beloved sister and cherished member of her community, passed away on December 5, 2025, in Overland Park, Kansas, at the age of 75. Born on June 27, 1950, in Olathe, Kansas, Peggy was a resident of the area her entire life and was known for her kind spirit and unwavering dedication to her family and friends.

A proud graduate of Olathe High School in 1969, Peggy went on to embrace a life devoted to caring for others. She served as the caregiver for her parents, Joe Zook, Jr. and Bonnie Belew Zook, until their passing. Her nurturing nature did not stop there; in 1996, she began her employment with Johnson County Developmental Supports where she made a significant impact on the lives of many individuals. Additionally, Peggy enjoyed her time working for Silpada Jewelry, where her passion for quality and beauty shone through.

Peggy was known not only for her dedication to her career, but also for her spirited and fun-loving personality outside of her work. She was very active in the Special Olympics, serving as a cheerleader for the Ranger squad, where her enthusiasm and support contributed to the joy of many. Her competitive spirit extended to the bowling alley, where she participated in numerous tournaments and was proud to win several trophies for her impressive skills.

An avid fan of the Kansas City Chiefs, Peggy found joy in cheering for her beloved team, always bringing her infectious energy to game days.

Peggy is survived by her loving sisters, Shirley (Jim) Brown, Joyce (Maurice) Schwenk, and Bonnie (John) Tevis, as well as her brother, Joe (Debra) Zook, III. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. She will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

In honoring her memory, friends and family are invited to gather for visitation at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home in Olathe, Kansas, on December 12, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM. Peggy's legacy of love, support, and community spirit will continue to reverberate through those she touched throughout her life.
