Pauline Martin Johnson, the only child of Sidney and Melva Martin was born near Glasco, Kansas on February 10, 1925. She died on September 9, 2025 in Overland Park, Kansas.

Pauline attended public schools in Glasco, graduating in 1943. On June 10, 1945 she wed Lt. Carl Johnson in San Marcos, Texas. During their life together, they lived in Stafford, Kansas and Sidney, Nebraska which they always considered their hometown.

Pauline and Carl had five children, Michael, Nancy, Mary Lou, Jim and Karen. Nancy died when she was 4 years old.  Survivors, besides her 4 children, include seven grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Other survivors include her son-in-law Lee Clark, sisters-in-law Jane Johnson and Beth Johnson and numerous nephews and nieces.

Pauline liked to knit, needlepoint and play bridge. She also enjoyed performing in local theater groups and belonged to drama clubs in Stafford and Sidney. She was a member of the Methodist church and P.E.O. Sisterhood.

In 1993, Pauline and Carl retired to Lake Havasu City, Arizona. Carl died there in 2011 and is buried in Glasco. According to her wishes, Pauline will be buried next to Carl, Nancy and her parents. 

A graveside service will take place on Saturday, October 11, 2025 at 11:00 am at the Glasco Cemetery.
