Patricia Nell Singer-Carson, 72, of Olathe, Kansas, passed away on Thursday, November 6, 2025. She was born on May 31, 1953, in Columbus, Georgia, to John and Mary (Bryant) Thomas.
Patricia grew up in Columbus, where she graduated from Spencer High School. She later married Benedict Charles Singer. Together, with her children, Dexter and Nikita, they built a life that took them around the world, from Manheim, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany in 1976, to Fort Riley, Kansas in 1979, before finally settling in Olathe, Kansas, where she made her home.
Patricia had a love for simple joys and creative expression. She enjoyed puzzles, playing bingo, and took great pride in keeping her home beautiful through redecorating and tending to her flowers. Her warmth, dedication, and consistency were reflected in everything she did.
She is survived by her children, Dexter (Shawn) Thomas and Nikita Singer; her brother Donald Thomas; sisters Gertrude Williams and Dorothy Thomas; grandchildren Adrian (Alyssa) Thomas, Adonis Simmons, and Dimitri Thomas; niece Ashley Wright; grandnephew Maliki Wright; great-grandchild Harlow Thomas; and her spouse, Ted Carson. She is also survived by many other nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family who loved her dearly.
Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary Thomas; siblings Brenda Thomas and John Thomas Jr.; grandson Darius Thomas; nephew Carlos Thomas; and her former husband, Benedict Charles Singer.
