Pat “Granmoo” Heim, 76, of Overland Park, passed away peacefully on April 30, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Born June 16, 1949, in Kansas City, Missouri, to James and Pauline Lafferty, Pat grew up with a strong sense of family and an easy laugh that stayed with her throughout her life. She graduated from Shawnee Mission North High School in 1967.
Pat built a long and successful career in sales, working for Boyle Midway, Nestlé, and Russell Stover. In 1978, she married the love of her life, George Heim. Together they made homes in La Mirada, California and later in Overland Park, Kansas where they raised their family. After her sales career, Pat continued her love of serving others by working in food services for the Shawnee Mission School District.
Pat was happiest when she was surrounded by the people she loved. She never missed a family gathering, a vacation to the beach or Disney, or a chance to celebrate life’s little joys. She enjoyed casino trips, bowling in two leagues with her friends, cooking and baking with her daughter Terra and grand girls, fishing, and any moment that brought laughter and connection. Her warmth, humor, and generous spirit made her “Granmoo” to more than just her grandchildren — she was a source of comfort and joy to everyone who knew her.
Pat is survived by her children Terra Huston (Steve), Sarah Thesman (Caleb), and Nick Heim; her grandchildren Jordan, Savannah, and Shelby Hasker; her sisters Betty Aquino and Barbara Strack; and her nieces and nephews Angel Aquino, Janina Boza, David Aquino, and Adam Aquino. She is preceded in death by her husband George, her parents Pauline and James, and her brother‑in‑law Gene Aquino.
Pat leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and family devotion. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
