In Loving Memory of Patricia Diane Keyton

Patricia Diane Keyton, age 86, passed away peacefully in her sleep on July 1, 2025, in Olathe, Kansas. A devoted mother, cherished member of her community, and faithful member of Prince of Peace Catholic parish, Patricia leaves behind a legacy of love, creativity, and connection.

Born on March 14, 1939, in Festus, Missouri, Patricia grew up in the close-knit “Twin Cities” community of Festus and Crystal City, where her early years were shaped by the small-town charm and vibrant local culture. In Festus, she married her high school sweetheart, James “Buster” Keyton, beginning a lifelong partnership. Together, they moved to Olathe, Kansas, then to Memphis, Tennessee, before returning to Olathe, where they built their family and lasting memories. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, James “Buster” Keyton; her cherished grandson, Tyler B. Keyton; her parents, Roy and Melba Hartman; and her three brothers, Jack, Jerry, and Keith Hartman. She is survived by her daughter, Tracey (Gary) Flack of Olathe, Kansas; her son, James “Sean” (Nancy) Keyton of Olathe, Kansas; her beloved great-granddaughter, Aurora Keyton; her step-granddaughters, Nicki (Josh) Bronis and Jacque Tucker; and her step-great-grandchildren, Hayley, Addyson, Braylen Bronis, Julian (Zoey) Cardona, and Logan Cardona.

Patricia brought beauty and warmth to the world through her passions for gardening, sewing, crocheting, and cooking. An avid cook, she loved watching the Food Channel to discover new recipes, delighting friends and family with her culinary creations. She enjoyed lively bingo games and cherished gatherings with loved ones to eat out, where her laughter and warmth filled every moment. Patricia worked diligently at the PPG glass factory and Dow Chemical in her early career before starting her family and later dedicated many years to the Olathe school district, where she touched countless lives with her commitment. She also treasured her time with friends from the Green Springs group, where her kindness created lasting bonds.

A memorial Mass will be held at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 16000 W 143rd St, Olathe, Kansas, on Friday, July 11, 2025, at 10 a.m.

Patricia’s kindness and creative spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Rest in peace.
