Norma Jean Roper was born on December 29, 1940, in Moundridge, Kansas, and passed away peacefully on May 21, 2026, in Olathe, Kansas.
Norma dedicated many years of her life to working as a medical coder, a profession she took great pride in. On April 4, 1959, she married the love of her life, Marion Roper, and together they shared many years of marriage and memories. Norma especially treasured her travels to Padre Island, Texas, and had a special place in her heart for rescuing dogs.
In her free time, Norma enjoyed gardening, quilting, crafting, searching garage sales for hidden treasures, and spending quiet moments reading. She will be remembered as a woman with a vibrant personality and strong convictions — deeply faithful, fiercely loving, quick-witted, and never afraid to speak her mind. Her warmth, humor, and strength left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Norma was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Marion Roper; her parents, Walter and Amanda Boese; and her daughter, Victoria Lynn Huck.
She is survived by her granddaughters, Kristin Lyons (Josh Trotter) and Katarina Tyrell (Colin Tyrell);her great-grandchildren, Arilynn, Whitley, Chandler, and Caden; and her son-in-law, Jeffery Huck.
In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the Breakthrough T1D Foundation.
