Nicola E. Howell

Nicola E. Howell, 74, of Olathe, Kansas, passed away on Friday, July 4, 2025. He was born on February 6, 1951 in St. Louis , Missouri to Samuel and Phyllis (Genova) Howell.

Nick grew up in North St. Louis County and went to Florissant high school. He enlisted in the Marine Corp after high school and served during the Vietnam War. He was wounded during the war and was honorably discharged in 1972. I met Nick at a softball tournament on July 4th, 1980. You could say there were fireworks at that meeting! We were married in June of 1984 and moved to Orlando later that year. He worked for the Postal Service for 31 years where we met many of our good friends from Florida. We moved to KC in April to get closer to our family, He was a long time St. Louis Cardinals fan and became a lifelong Raiders fan from his time in California in the service. H e was a great husband, brother, uncle and friend.

Nick is survived by his loving wife, Margaret Howell, sisters Sue Hunter, Deborah Kundl, and Nancy Nax, and his brother, Andy Howell.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Phyllis Howell and father, Samuel Howell.
