Nancy Ruth McCall

Nancy Ruth McCall, 87, of Overland Park, Kansas, peacefully passed away on Monday, October 14, 2024. Born on May 12, 1937, in Kansas City, Missouri, she was the beloved daughter of Henry and Margie (Deery) Johanning.

Nancy grew up in Kansas City, where she developed a love for learning and community. She attended local schools, cultivating lifelong friendships and a passion for cooking, travel and the arts. It was during her time at The University of Kansas that she met her husband Tom McCall, and together they built a beautiful family, welcoming four sons into the world: Mike, Pete, John and Tim.

Throughout her life, Nancy supported many civil and charitable organizations that reflected her vibrant personality. She loved the Kansas City Symphony and the Nelson Atkins Museum. She was deeply involved in her community and cherished spending time with her many friends and family.

Nan is survived by her four sons, Mike McCall (wife Jan), Pete McCall (wife Carolyn), John McCall, and Tim (TJ) McCall. Five grandchildren, Jake, Chris, Brad (wife Amanda), Lauren (husband Collin) and Brent. Four great grandchildren, Mindy, Audrey, Hensley and Embry.

She is preceded in death by her husband Thomas Francis McCall on June 15, 2021, and her sister Margie Keaton.

A memorial service to honor Nancy's life will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, November 7, 2024, at Penwell-Gabel's Olathe Chapel, followed by a reception until 4:00 PM. A link to the live-stream of the 2:00 PM service is available below.
