Michele Susan Hill

Michele Susan Hill was born on September 28, 1962, in Kansas City, Kansas, to Gary and Ursula Casida. She passed away peacefully on July 18, 2026, at Olathe Medical Center.

A lifelong resident of the Kansas City metropolitan area, Michele graduated from Shawnee Mission West High School before earning her associate’s degree from Kansas City Kansas Community College.

Michele began her career in banking before discovering her true calling in early childhood care and education. She began as a preschool teacher and later opened her own in-home daycare, a source of great pride and joy throughout her life. Michele found deep fulfillment in caring for others and helping wherever she could. Her generous spirit was evident through her years of volunteer work at her neighborhood grade school and her involvement with the Starfish Project, to which she regularly gave her time and resources.

Michele was lovingly described as a “mom to all.” She was selfless, generous, loving, inspiring, and always willing to give her time to others. Family was the center of her world, and she lovingly nurtured not only her children and grandchildren, but also the many children she cared for through her daycare. Michele had a wonderful artistic spirit and enjoyed painting, crocheting, scrapbooking, and many other crafts. She especially loved encouraging creativity in her grandchildren and sharing those special moments with them.

When she was not volunteering or spending time with her family, Michele enjoyed shopping, gardening, and cheering on the Chiefs, Royals, and Jayhawks. She had a special talent for finding the best bargains, whether she was adding a new treasure to one of her collections or finding something special for someone she loved.

Michele’s kindness, generosity, and loving spirit touched the lives of many. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Michele was preceded in death by her parents, Gary and Ursula Casida. She is survived by her loving husband, Steven Hill; son, Bradley Hill (Ashleigh); daughter, Ashley Hill; grandchildren, Gannon, Paisley, and Henley Hill; and brother, Rob Casida.
