Michael Moyer, 77, of Olathe, Kansas, passed away on Tuesday, July 14, 2026. He was born on August 28, 1948 in Nebraska City, Nebraska to Donald Charles Moyer and Clara Belle Broxston.
He attended Kearney Hill school district and went to a Methodist Church where he asked Jesus to come into his heart at the age of 8 years old.
Michael went to Broadcasting Arts school and worked as a DJ for 3 years at a radio station in Falls City, Nebraska. Then he graduated from MANC in 1976. I met Michael the fall of 1970 at MANC. We were married in December, 1971 and completed our family with 2 boys, Ryan and Tyler.
Michael worked for Gates Rubber Co. as a district sales manager for 32 years.
He enjoyed playing golf, bowling, ballroom dancing, dressing up as a clown, and going to the Olathe hospital, other charities, birthday parties etc. to entertain children.
His passion was being a DJ, playing music for car shows, wedding, charities, etc. Michael loved the American Legion and the soldiers who fought to keep America free. He tried to join the army when he was younger but they couldn’t take him because he had asthma.
2013 Michael started providing music for a group of ladies called the “Bettys” who would entertain veterans at some of the American Legions. He went on 11 Honor Flights as a companion & helper for 1 or more of the veterans on the flight. If there was something that Michael could do for the veterans, he would do it.
Michael is survived by his wife, Shirley Moyer, sons Ryan Moyer and Tyler Moyer, grandson Tavis Moyer, and brother Jerry Moyer.
