Marina M. Thexton

Marina Michailovna Thexton, 43, passed away unexpectantly on February 26, 2026 in Olathe, KS.

She was born September 22, 1982 in Izhevsk, Russia where she spent the first 26 years of her life attending school and becoming a Veterinarian. In 2008 she came to the United States. Marina was briefly married to Kevin Thexton and had a son Daniel.

She used her Russian education to secure a career in Cancer Research. Marina loved camping, horses and animals of all kinds.

Marina is survived by her mother Tatiana Mauer of Homer, Michigan; son, Daniel of Olathe. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Eugeniya Gorbunova and Sergey Gorbunov.

Visitation will be held on March 6, 2026 at 2pm followed by a memorial service at 3pm at Penwell Gabel Funeral Home, 14275 S. Black Bob Road, Olathe, Kansas 66062.
