Marilyn Louise Pulliam, 70, joined her husband, Ronald Pulliam, in heaven on May 16, 2026.Marilyn was born to Grant and Lola Mendell of Kansas City on October 26, 1955. In June of 1977, she married her high school sweetheart, Ronald Pulliam. Marilyn and Ron had three children, Christina, Melissa, and Jillian.Marilyn was heavily involved in the community during her life.
She was constantly giving back to the schools that her children attended through organizing PTO activities, fundraising and hosting teacher luncheons. You could always count on her to help when there was a school event that needed attention or something needed to be done. It was through her volunteering that she met some of the best friends that someone could have. Whether it be her "Havencroft Moms" group or the "Neighborhood Moms," she was always on the phone talking to someone about what she was up to or talking about the monthly neighborhood lunch plans. She was always thinking of others during her life. If someone needed cheering up, Marilyn was the one to send a card, deliver a homemade meal or make a phone call to let them know she was thinking of them.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents Grant and Lola Mendell, and her husband, Ronald Pulliam. Surviving family include her daughter Christina Hiemstra, son-in-law Erik Hiemstra, daughter Melissa Pulliam, daughter Jillian Walters, and son-in-law Trever Walters. She is also survived by sister Sharon Ramsey, brother-in-law Leslie Ramsey, sister Darlene Linscott, brother-in-law Errol Dean, and nephew Matthew Linscott. Her surviving grandchildren are Emma Hiemstra, William Hiemstra, Lauren HIemstra, Leah Walters and Logan Walters.
