Marilyn Jean Mack

Marilyn Jean Mack, 76, of Overland Park, KS and formerly of Port St. Lucie, FL passed away on August 23, 2026 after an eight-year battle with Alzheimer’s disease. The family is planning a service and burial at a later date in Stuart, FL.

Marilyn was born on June 8, 1950, in Pittsburgh, PA to Eloine Alfonso and Kathryn Morrison Zorowski. She graduated from Penn Hills High School and later married her high school sweetheart, Robert “Bob” Mack, also originally of Pittsburgh, PA. Marilyn and Bob settled in the Maryland suburbs of Washington DC. For many years, Marilyn dedicated her life to raising her children, Brian and Kristie, including volunteering in their schools and various activities. As her children grew older, Marilyn returned to the workforce as a legal secretary in Columbia, MD.

In 2004, Marilyn and Bob retired to Port St. Lucie, FL where they spent the next 21 years enjoying retirement, traveling, the Florida sunshine, and time with their cats. During retirement, Marilyn’s passion for sewing flourished. A gifted seamstress, she loved to embroider, smock, and sew. She created many beautiful baby clothes and treasured loveys for her grandchildren.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, her uncle Dr. Carl Zorowski, and her aunt Sally Zorowski.

She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Robert J. Mack of Overland Park, KS, her son Brian Mack and his wife Laura of Overland Park, KS, her daughter Kristie Knight of Hardeeville, SC, her grandchildren Kaitlin and Kara Mack and Hunter and Dylan Froemming, and her brother Rich Zorowski.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or Humane Society of St Lucie County in Florida.

Marilyn will be remembered for her devotion to her family, creative spirit, and loving nature. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
