Marilyn Joan (Schugart) Grover, of Olathe, Ks., passed away on July 11, 2025. Marilyn was born on June 2, 1940, in Great Bend, Ks., to Fred and Velma Schugart. She married Delbert Grover August 26, 1958, and the couple spent most of their lives in Great Bend, Ks., and later in Olathe, Ks. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Delbert Grover; brother, Alvin Schugart; sister, Anita Schugart O.P., son-in-law John Gerstberger, and great granddaughter Emma Violet Frohling.
Marilyn is survived by son Greg Grover and wife Audery, daughter Kelly (Grover) Reinhardt and husband Brad, daughter Denise (Grover) Gerstberger, son David Grover and wife Jodi, son Kyle Grover and wife Lisa and daughter Sarah (Grover) Rundus and husband Dan, along with 20 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.
Marilyn's hobbies included playing cards, bingo and watching her children and grandchildren in their many activities. She had a part-time job at Kohls department store where she loved meeting new people and visiting with customers and coworkers.
She enjoyed making Christmas stockings for her grandchildren; each stocking was a labor of love that involved many hours of intricate needlework.
In lieu of flowers, the family appreciates memorial donations to Villa St. Francis, a skilled nursing facility that provided her wonderful compassionate care. Checks made payable to Villa St. Francis or cash can be left with the funeral home or mailed to Kelly Reinhardt, 11205 El Monte Street, Leawood, KS 66211.
