Louise Lunn, a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and beloved member of her community, passed away peacefully on June 7, 2026, in Overland Park, Kansas. Born on April 26, 1932, in Springfield, Missouri, Louise lived a life full of love, dedication, and rich experiences that touched the lives of many.
Louise Lunn, attended Missouri State University and Drury University for degrees in Education. She taught in Elementary schools throughout Springfield, Missouri for 32 years. She was the last remaining charter member of University Heights Baptist Church which formed in 1945. She was apart of several organizations such as the P.E.O and volunteered at such places like the Community Blood Center.
Louise was a woman of remarkable warmth and creativity, whose passions included family, gardening, caring for her pets, travel, sewing, and art. She had a special gift for bringing family together, creating treasured gatherings that strengthened bonds and fostered joyful memories. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her own home, inspiring those around her with her kindness and unwavering commitment to those she loved.
Family was at the heart of Louise’s life. She is survived by her sons, Mike Lunn and Lance Lunn. Louise also leaves behind her treasured granddaughter Heather Weidman and Sieara Jones, who remember her as a guiding light and source of encouragement. Her lineage extends to her great-grandchildren: Wesley Weidman, Lela Weidman, and Ian Lunn.
Louise’s memory is also marked by the deep sorrow of those who came before her, including her father Dr. Joseph Johnston, mother Lillian Johnston, and her son Mark Lunn, whom she held dear in her heart throughout her life.
Louise’s commitment to family, friends, and the simple joys of life will continue to inspire those who knew her. Though she has departed from this world, her spirit lives on in the loving memories she created and the family she so deeply cherished.
Her passing leaves a profound void, yet also a lasting tribute to a life well lived and a love deeply felt. Louise Lunn will always be remembered with respect, admiration, and gratitude for her many contributions to the lives she touched.
