Linda Carolyn Meeker Truby was born November 24, 1939, to Alice L. Luckey-Meeker and Eursie P. Meeker in Osceola, Missouri.
She was “born again” at an early age and lived her life devoted to Christ, using her exceptional talent as a pianist to bless countless listeners. She accompanied soloists, ensembles, choirs, and congregational singing throughout her life, as the piano was a big part of her own worship.
After graduating from Shawnee Mission High School in 1957 (now Shawnee Mission North), Linda embarked on a secretarial career at several companies including Kansas City Life, Yellow Freight, and KU Medical Center.
On August 31, 1962, Linda married God’s man for her life, Don W. Truby. They were happily married until his death on April 27, 2022. Music was a big part of their lives together and as a family.
A loving mother, Linda was preceded in death by their two daughters, Pamela Kathleen Truby and Alisha Marie Truby, as well as her parents, Alice and Eursie Meeker.
She is survived by two brothers, Stephen Meeker (Janice) and Glen Meeker (Barbara), along with a host of nieces and nephews, as well as her best friend, Debbie Harrison.
Linda was a lifelong resident of the Overland Park/Olathe area. She resided at Cedar Lake Village in Olathe, Kansas, until her passing on May 16, 2026.
Linda ran her race, she finished the course, she kept the faith; therefore, there is laid up a crown for her in heaven. Welcome home, Linda. You did run well.
The family will receive guests for a visitation from 11:00-12:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at Penwell Gabel’s Olathe Chapel, with a graveside service following at Olathe Cemetery.
