Kristalynn Mary Redstone, 58, of Overland Park, Kansas, passed away Saturday night, December 13, 2025, while sleeping peacefully. We take great comfort in knowing now that while she did not wake up Sunday morning in this world, she woke up in the arms of her heavenly Father.
Kristalynn was born on November 16, 1967, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Douglas J. Miller and Mary Helen (Heisler) Miller, when Doug was stationed there with the Navy.
Kristalynn grew up in South Dakota, back and forth between Sioux Falls and Brookings as her dad served at various branches within Norwest (Wells Fargo). She graduated from Washington High School in 1986 and later graduated from Baylor University in 1990.
Kristalynn worked with Texas Commerce in Dallas after school before moving to Kansas City to work with Twentieth Century Investments (later American Century) in the summer of 1994. She moved to Kansas City the week before Memorial Day, met her loving husband at a Memorial Day picnic, and they were engaged a few months later on Labor Day.
When Kristalynn and Troy were married January 28, 1995, Kristalynn was in sales with American Century and Troy was engaged in launching a new church in midtown Kansas City (Capstone Church). She married a pastor, and seven years later they traded careers, with Troy in the investment industry and Kristalynn involved in ministry through MOPS (MomCo). Serving Moms Of PreSchoolers (MOPS) was her passion. Kristalynn participated as a mom of two preschoolers, helped to start MOPS at several churches, and later served as a Mentor Mom to young moms involved in the ministry.
Kristalynn loved God, she loved Jesus, she loved her family, and she loved her grandbabies (to whom she was known as Mimi). She loved everyone and she loved taking care of everybody else.
Kristalynn is survived by her loving husband, Troy Redstone; her daughter and son-in-law, Kyra Kristalynn (Redstone) Schuemann and Thomas Schuemann; her son, Chet Redstone; her parents, Doug and Mary Miller; her brother and sister-in-law, David and Kara Miller, and their children, Luke, Cole, Brayden, and John; and Kyra Schuemann’s children, Isabella Kyra Schuemann and Elisha Scott Schuemann.
The family will receive guests for a Visitation from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Friday, December 19, 2025, at Penwell-Gabel's Olathe Chapel (14275 S. Black Bob Road in Olathe, Kansas). Her Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at Journey Bible Church (13700 W. 151st Street in Olathe, Kansas).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions in Kristalynn’s memory be made to a Foundation that the family has established to sponsor new moms and provide scholarships and free childcare within the MomCo (MOPS) ministry. Click here to donate.
