Kira Grace Preston

Kira Grace Preston, 22, recently of Olathe, Kansas, passed away on Wednesday, July 1, 2026. She was born on February 11, 2004 in Portland, Oregon and adopted by David and Veronica Preston.

Kira spent her childhood in Portland, Oregon. She and her family had lots of adventures at the beach, in the mountains, and in the wetlands behind their house. In 2022 she graduated from Faith Bible Christian School in Hillsboro, Oregon. In 2024 she moved to Olathe, Kansas and became roommates with her older sister Tatiana. She held various jobs throughout the years but was most proud of her recent growth at FedEx. She was an avid reader, writer and creative artist. She was witty and hilarious. She loved animals, mixing metaphors and putting her own spin on everything. She will be sorely missed.

Kira is survived by her loving parents, David and Veronica Preston, siblings Tatiana, Drew, Ella and Zane. She is also survived by loving grandparents, aunts, uncles and many cousins, as well as friends who loved her dearly.

A Memorial Service will be held at Penwell-Gabel's Olathe Chapel on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at 2:00pm. A visitation will precede the service and will begin at 1:00pm.
