On November 25, 2025, Keith Darwin Thomas, received heavenly peace surrounded by family. He received the best birthday present ever…”to be absent from the body and present with the LORD.” II Corinthians 5:8
Keith joins Fred and Lettie Thomas, his parents; brothers: Edward, Fred Jr., Romeo, Dale and Michael; sisters: Sylvia, Jocelyn, Stephanie and Avis in eternal rest.
Born on November 25, 1956 in Kansas City, KS to Fred and Lettie Mae Thomas, he was the youngest of the family and was loved by all his brothers and sisters. Keith graduated from Washington High School in 1974. He became a proud member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity while attending Kansas State University. Later in life, he received an Associates of Arts Degree from Kansas City Kansas Community College.
As a child he accepted Christ and joined Madden Temple Church of God in Christ under the late Reverend Moses Cofield which he attended every Sunday with his family. In 1992, Keith became a member of Second Baptist Church under Pastor Ronnie D. Taylor He was involved in the Sunday School, Men's Ministry, Culinary Ministry and the Music Ministry. From 2021, he joined New Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church under the late Reverend Vernon DeBose, Jr. He was faithful as Sunday School teacher until his health began to take a toll.
Keith loved to talk and found his niche as a salesman. He worked a variety of jobs where his gift of gab and influence earned him many awards and accolades.
A man of many passions,Keith loved to cook. Whether he was preparing a big family meal or trying out a new recipe just because it sounded interesting, he poured love into every dish. His kitchen was a gathering place—where stories were shared and no one ever left hungry.
Music was another constant in his life. He loved all genres of music. It was the soundtrack of his home and a gift he shared with all—-family and friends.
Keith treasured his loved ones. He was a proud husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, son and friend—steady, caring, and always there when you needed him. His sense of humor was a bright spot in the day.
And on game days, there was no mistaking where his loyalty lay—with his beloved Kansas City Chiefs. Whether cheering from the couch or surrounded by family and snacks for game day, he was a loyal fan through every season whether winning or losing.
Keith leaves to cherish his memories: Jan, his wife of 32 years; his two children: Kenya Bullock and Keith Thomas II; sister: Sharon Brown, Houston, TX and Richard Thomas, Sr. (Aline), Olathe, KS; grandchildren: Keyron Bullock; Keyera Bullock and Keyonna Bullock.
His legacy of love, generosity, and joy will be remembered by a host of friends and family who knew him. Though he has left our sight, his spirit will remain with us forever.
