Joe Hall, born January 3, 1941, to O.C. and Marjorie Hall, who preceded him in death, passed away after a full and fulfilling life.
Joe graduated from Oakland Technical High School and served in the military, being discharged in 1965. He went on to work at General Motors, starting in the Bay Area before relocating with his family to Olathe, Kansas.
After 41 years of dedicated service, he retired in 2006. After returning from Vietnam, Joe and Donna reunited and were married in 1966. Together, they had a son, Brian D. Hall, and Joe also lovingly embraced Donna’s daughters, Lana and Lorria Mathis. He was a proud and devoted father to all three. A beloved figure, Joe was known for his kindness, warmth, and infectious personality. He had a special bond with his son, Brian, and was happiest surrounded by family.
Joe’s interests included music, sports, dancing, traveling, visiting family, making daily store runs, and especially enjoying his wife’s cooking. He will be remembered for his love of life, his generosity, and his joyful spirit.
Joe is survived by his wife, Donna Hall; his children, Lana Mathis and Brian Hall; his grandchildren, Terrell Daniels, Ashley Limage, Daron Mims, Derrick Mims, Devinaire Zaid, Darwin “DJ” Neal, Brazille Neal, Brianna Shimko, Rashad Kelms, and Me’Lana Mathis-Irvin; his sibling, Phil Hall (wife Claudia Hall); and his eight greatgrandchildren.
