Jerry Palomino, 63, of Olathe, Kansas, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 20, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on March 29, 1962 in Kansas City, Kansas, to Gerardo and Lucy (Espinoza) Palomino.
A lifelong resident of the area, Jerry graduated from Shawnee Mission West High School and later earned his degree in Microbiology from the University of Kansas. He dedicated his life to Palomino Construction Company. Some of his fondest memories involved working alongside his brother-in-laws and friends, and passing along his wisdom to his nephews.
Those who knew Jerry will remember him most for his never ending smile and his deep love for his friends and family. Jerry was a quiet force, and he kept the people he loved centered and safe. His willingness to always show up in times of need and provide comfort and clarity in crisis made him a special part of everyone's lives. There was never a problem that couldn’t be solved with a call to Jerry - no matter the time of day or night. He worked hard his whole life for the people he loved, and his final act of love was evident through his strength and his fight to stay with us.
He was preceded in death by Lucy Palomino (mother), Gerardo Palomino (father), and Tio (Uncle Ernie Lima).
Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Regina Palomino, daughters Victoria (Palomino) Gosselaar, and Danielle (Palomino) Newell, son-in-laws Enrico Gosselaar and Hunter Newell, and his sisters Bertha Rice (Bob Rice), Monica Kirby, and Lacha Palomino. He is also survived by Dr. Howard Scalzi and Ann Marie Scalzi, who considered him their son from the moment he stepped into their lives as a child.
Jerry was a bright light that will be missed by so many.
