Jeremy Michael Heinen, husband, father, son, and friend, passed away on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, after cancer cut short a life filled with love, laughter, and purpose. Surrounded by those who loved him most, Jeremy went to be with his Heavenly Father, leaving behind countless cherished memories. He will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his tireless work ethic, and for creating spreadsheets so detailed and organized they were nothing short of magic and became legendary among family and friends.
Jeremy was born in Topeka, Kansas, on June 15, 1983, and grew up in Valley Falls, Kansas, where he developed the values of hard work, loyalty, and community. After graduating from Valley Falls High School, he attended Kansas State University, earning a degree in engineering. Following college, Jeremy built a successful career with Kiewit, where he was respected for his dedication, knowledge, and commitment to excellence.
Jeremy met his future wife, Vickie Winter, during college. Their relationship grew into a lifelong partnership, and they married on May 14, 2011, in Valley Falls, Kansas. Together they built a life centered on love, laughter, and family.
Anyone who knew Jeremy knew that the lake held a special place in his heart. It was more than a destination—it was his second home. Countless weekends and summers were spent enjoying the water, relaxing with family and friends, and creating memories that will be treasured forever.
Jeremy is survived by his wife, Vickie (Winter) Heinen; their daughters, Wynter and Wrenly Heinen; his parents, Jerry and Karen Heinen; his sister, Angie (Scott) Walker, and their children, Asher and Avery; his half-brother, Jeff (Lacey) Weimhold, and their son, Carter; as well as many extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
Jeremy will be remembered for his steady presence, generous spirit, and unwavering love for his family. Though he had many accomplishments, his greatest were his daughters. Every time they laugh, show kindness, face a challenge with courage, or create a spreadsheet, a piece of their dad will live on.
