Jeremy Scot Fish
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jeremy Scot Fish on October 5, 2024 at the age of 38.
Jeremy was born November 19, 1985 in Rochester, IN to Dr. Larry Fish and Rhonda (Krohn) Fish and was baptized on Christmas Eve. He moved with his family to Northern California as a child; there he fell in love with the San Francisco 49ers and Giants. Jeremy and his family moved to Los Angeles when he was a teen, and he remained there into his adulthood.
Jeremy graduated from Valencia High School and then received his radiology degree at Los Angeles City College. He was proud to work at KCUC Urology & Oncology. There Jeremy’s compassion for others served him well as he assisted and treated patients on their road to recovery.
At the young age of 19, Jeremy met his future wife, Katie Truong in Santa Barbara, CA. They spent their early days exploring campgrounds in the high mountains and the beautiful California coast, where Jeremy would get lost in wonder. The ocean was Jeremy’s safe space. After nine years together, Katie and Jeremy married on October 14, 2016 in Killarney, Ireland. Jeremy and Katie would have celebrated eight blissful years of marriage.
Not only was Jeremy a devoted and loving husband, he was an adoring father to his daughter, Charlie and son, Henry. His kids were his pride and joy and Jeremy spent countless hours tending to their needs, playing, laughing, and sharing his joy of astronomy with the kids. He colored and danced the night away with Charlie and imparted his love of biking and Legos to Henry. The kids’ laughter, brought on by Jeremy, will echo forever.
Jeremy’s other joy was his extended family, especially his older brother Ryan and younger brother Joey, who were not only his brothers but also his best friends. Even with a busy schedule, Jeremy managed to set time aside for brotherly bonding over video games and sharing funny memes.
Jeremy was a natural athlete and completed countless marathons and triathlons; one of his greatest accomplishments was completing the half-Iron Man. He was an avid golfer, and shared his passion for golf with his mother, Rhonda. Jeremy was also an amateur but gifted guitarist. He played drums at his best show at “The Roxi” on Sunset Boulevard with his band mates. Jeremy was a road-biking champion, aeronautics and aerospace enthusiast, and a lover of the outdoors. He spent many nights camping under the stars and backpacked through Yosemite, checking that off his bucket list
Jeremy was known for his kind soul and the wonderful ability to make everyone smile. He had a laugh that resounded to the high heavens and now we can only hope that we can continue to hear and remember his laughter here on earth. It is said grief is the last act of love. Where there is great grief, there was great love. Jeremy will be greatly missed by the many who grieve for him while continuing to love him and treasure his memory. Those who are heartbroken at Jeremy’s untimely death find comfort in knowing they will someday be reunited with him in Heaven.
Jeremy is survived by wife, Katie; children Charlie and Henry; mother, Rhonda Butz; mother-in-law Van Lam; brothers Ryan (Veronika) Fish and Joey Fish; sister-in-law Jenny Truong; Uncle Randy Krohn (Jean), Aunt Susan (Richard) Meeske and many loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by father Larry Fish; “dad” and stepfather Ric Butz; father-in-law Sam Truong; brother-in-law Francis Truong; and grandparents Henry and Janice Krohn and William Fish.
