Jennifer Rose Nail

Jennifer Rose Nail, age 45, of Gardner, Kansas, passed away peacefully at her home on August 7, 2026. She was born on September 24, 1980, in Boise, Idaho, to Robert Whitehead, Jr. and Deborah Snider.

Jennifer graduated from Johnson County Community College and spent many years doing what came so naturally to her, caring for others as a pediatric intensive care registered nurse. She was known not only for her incredible intelligence and skill as a nurse, but for the compassion she brought to every child and family she cared for. She had a remarkable ability to bring comfort in difficult moments, offering reassurance and kindness when it was needed most. Her quick wit, optimism, and genuine warmth made her someone people remembered long after they met her.

But above everything else, Jennifer was a mother. Being a mother was the greatest honor of her life, and her daughters were the source of a love and pride that was impossible to miss. She treasured Taylor and Zoey beyond words and was endlessly proud of the beautiful women they are becoming. Her greatest joy was loving them, comforting them, encouraging them, and simply being their mom.

In recent years, Jennifer’s faith became an especially meaningful part of her life. She openly embraced her faith and was proud to be a follower of Jesus. Her love for Christ became an outward expression of the hope, love, and grace she wanted to share with others. She carried that faith with her in the way she loved her children, cared for others, and faced life.

Jennifer is survived by her beloved daughters, Taylor Nail (Ryan Hicks) and Zoey Temple; her parents, Robert Whitehead, Jr. and Deborah Snider (John); her sisters, Mandy Whitehead, Crystal Rollwagen, and Sarah Gerard (Brent); and her grandparents, Robert Wayne Whitehead and Linda Whitehead. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends who loved her deeply and whose lives were touched by hers.

She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Eugene Becker; grandmother, Ramona Morley; aunt, Cindy Thomas; and uncle, Tom Salz.

Jennifer’s life was defined by the love she gave to her daughters, her family, the children and families she cared for, and the people fortunate enough to know her. She will be remembered for her brilliant mind, tender heart, contagious humor, unwavering love for her girls, and the faith that became so important to her. Above all, she will be remembered simply as Jennifer, our daughter, sister, mother, family, and friend, who was deeply loved and will be deeply missed.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, August 16, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at Penwell-Gable Funeral Home in Olathe, Kansas. A reception and visitation with family and friends will follow.
