Jeanne Cottey

Jeanne Cottey was born in September 1953 in Kansas City, Kansas. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones in September 2026 at Olathe Hospice House.

 Jeanne graduated from Liberty High School in Liberty, Missouri. After high school, she worked as a certified nursing assistant before becoming a stay-at-home mother to her two beloved daughters. 

Jeanne was a warm and loving person who cared deeply for those around her. She enjoyed the arts and music, but most of all, she loved her family and her faith. Jeanne was especially proud of her daughters and their families. They were her greatest joy and accomplishment. 

Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Reva Cottey; her daughter, Rachel; and her sisters, Janet and Carrie. 

She is survived by her partner, Fred Selby; her daughter and son-in-law, Josette and Wade Wherley; sisters, Sherry and Cindy; brother, James; three grandchildren; three greatgrandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Jeanne will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew and loved her. Her memory will live on through the people she loved most.
